Be thankful I didn’t go with my other idea, which was to imagine a “reality” show in which Casey and OJ move in together to raise the children of Nicole Brown.
Sadly, this may not be so far from the truth. I suspect that her phone has been ringing off the hook this evening with offers. While I don’t think she’ll do reality television right away, I wouldn’t doubt it if, within five years, once the books and made-for-TV movies have run their course, that we see her doing something like The Bachelorette, or, better yet, boxing Tonya Harding on pay-per-view. Or, she could arrest people alongside La Toya Jackson. That might be cool.

If I’m not mistaken, Florida is now under Biblical law, so I didn’t find this ruling all that unexpected.
And, as for entering Hot Body contests, I believe that’s a recognized stage of grief. I’m I’m not mistaken, that particular stage, as defined by Dr. Charlie Brown, is called “good grief”.

I don’t know shit about this case. The first I heard of it was yesterday, but apparently this has been going on for three years.
When doing CPR, it’s advised that, immediately after blowing air into the person’s mouth, you cover their nose and mouth with tape, in order to prevent said air from escaping.
I think it’s a sign of the dumbing of America that Nancy Grace and Bill O’Reilly are on tv….self righteous pigs that they are.
Listening to the evidence as given during the actual trial, it did not prove murder.
But that is one screwed up “family”.
It’s frustrating when you see Nancy Grace show the photos of Casey dancing a few days after her daughter was killed, looking as though she’s having the time of her life. That’s not evidence, though. This case is incredibly unfortunate, as we’re all sure that she did it, but lies to the police about a fictional Hispanic, baby-snatching nanny, as horrendous as they are, don’t prove murder. The case was completely circumstantial, and, as much as it frustrates me, the jury probably made the right call.
Now, I am more familiar with this stupid case, though I feel as if I’ve lost a few brain cells in the process.
My view:
GOOD FUCKING GOD, there are shitty parents all over this country that should be put on trial EVERY FUCKING DAY.
If every stupid American working at their stupid, nowhere desk jobs were to expend their energy on something other than these nonsensical, sensational stories, we might be able to to something about all the impoverished, unwanted, abused and lost kids all over this incredibly stupid country.

Now that I think about it, I vaguely recall reading something about fighting in the waiting lines to get into court though I didn’t care enough to remember which family disaster was being documented by the courts.
The whole thing is horribly depressing. Not the actual case so much–shit happens–but what the circus around it tells us about the depths of human stupidity and callousness. I can accept a world in which a few deranged parents can kill their children. I cannot accept a world where the dominant culture is dictated by the base urges of the apparently moronic masses.

As no one has said it so far, I will…. It’s better that 100 guilty people go free, than 1 innocent person be sent to prison for a crime they didn’t commit.
With one crime under her belt (well, a few: bad checks, lying to police, dead baby), i think the larger crime is still to come: the amount of money she’s gonna make off of this. If they let her out tomorrow, she’ll be on the cover of Playboy by Monday.
If Caylee wanted to live, she should have fought back. Have you people learned nothing from Ayn Rand? The strong make the rules.
OK, maybe there wasn’t the evidence to convict her of murder or manslaughter…but what about child abuse, abuse of a corpse, etc. Even by her own attorney’s “story” that Caylee drowned and that Caycee and her father covered it up – HELLO!!!! So they didn’t call 911? They taped her airways and threw her in a swamp??? And she walks FREE? How can that be. Did the jury not hear her attorney say THEY HAD THE DEAD BABY.
Legal system, Education system, Medical system……all need to be abolished and start again!
Maybe the Tea Party can fix this, too.
Nancy Grace is a bitter shrew. On the news she said she slept with her kids last night after the verdict. EEEK.
She’d make a great Nazi though. Guilty until proven innocent.
I did like the commentary in the Freep…how Nancy Grace really saved Casey because she spent THREE YEARS blasting “Totmom” every single night blaming her for everything but the economy.
All of that publicity brought great attornies to Casey who otherwise would have had a public defender.
