Vanstructables

I don’t know which one is Joel and which one is Nate, but I’m incredibly impressed by this first episode of their show, Vanstructables, which was shot here in Ypsi. I’m hoping that there will be more episodes in the future, but, as rumor has it that one of these guys will soon be moving to fucking Brooklyn, I don’t know how likely that is.

Not to get all political, but instead of paying companies from outside Michigan to come in and shoot shitty movies like Scream 4 here these past several years, we should have spent our millions bankrolling projects like this. Maybe if we had, the state wouldn’t be in the mess it’s in right now. Or, even if nothing changed economy-wise, at least we could be happy about the stuff we wasted our money on.

Both of these guys, by the way, work at VG Kids.

Thanks so much for the awesome review! I am Nate (the one in glasses) and have officially moved to Brooklyn. If you can believe it, we actually cruised the VW bus all the way to Brooklyn from Ypsi. It was a beautiful adventure, and although you won’t be seeing any new episodes popping up any time soon, Joel and I will definitely still be working on projects together.

    Thanks again!

Sorry Ypsi couldn’t keep you, Nate. Good luck in the Big City.

I think that might be the only video on Youtube that I’ve watched until the very end! Very funny.

“f*cking” Brooklyn? Brooklyn rocks, but i understand your frustration.
I don’t think the brain drain will stop in our lifetime. I’d even wager that Clementine will also head to a coast one day, maybe even to f*cking Brooklyn. Especially after Snyder’s gutting of the state, the best we can hope for is that they come back…and sometimes they do, and MI compares well, especially for those seeking affordable housing…and water. Hopefully, brain drainers become ambassadors, sending back sympathy (and maybe money) to our rusting state. Too bad there aren’t any incentives to bring more creative industries to our state…
