I haven’t broken it to Linette yet, but our romantic evening at home may well be derailed by Charlie Sheen. It looks as though he’ll be broadcasting live starting at 10:00 PM. No word on whether or not the “goddesses” will be joining him, or whether or not he’ll be reenacting scenes from Two and a Half Men.
Update: I just saw a sliver of his face, and one of the goddesses setting up.
Update: I just told Linette. Her response was, “I can’t believe you’d rather have a date with Charlie Sheen than me.”
Update: I’m thinking about turning it off. I don’t want to see him kill himself. I don’t suspect that’s what’s in store, but I suppose it’s possible.
Update: Now they’re playing farting noises… I bet his gets higher ratings than Saturday Night Live.
Update: They’re already at 52,000 viewers, and they’re adding something like a dozen a second.
Update: OK, I think I found a way that you could watch on my site.

He’s like Sarah Palin… cutting out the middle man completely and going right to the people directly.
Generally speaking, I don’t like watching people unravel. And I do find this troubling, but, at the same time, I find myself really fascinated by everything he says. I’d like to believe that it’s performance art, but, sadly, I suspect that’s not the case.
I can hear them discussing when to go live.
He’s drinking from a sippy cup.
If I heard correctly, he’s joined by former MTV VJ Simon Rex.
It’s really boring so far.
He has a new wrist tattoo that says, “winning,” and he’s asking people to open their windows and chant along with him.
OK, Linette’s done with her work now, so I’m going to log out and call it a night.
One last thought…. Watching this makes me realize just how good our little talk show at the Dreamland Theater really is. This is painful.
The number of viewers is dropping fast.
OK, I am really going this time….
That was dumb.
I think a lot of people tune in to Howard Stern’s show and think, “Wow, that’s easy. I could do that.” But it’s not that easy. It’s a job. And it’s hard to do it and not look like an ass. Charlie made a big mistake last night.
Would have been way better with Bree Olson. Trolls won.
The Saturday Night Live version wasn’t much better.

Is anyone going to see him tonight in Detroit?
It sounds horrible.
