As someone mentioned yesterday in the comments section, Jon Stewart had a great piece the other night on the hypocrisy of the right wing pundits who, just a month ago were talking about how families making over $250,000 a year were just barely scraping by, and now claim that teachers, who make a fraction of that, are too well paid. How is it that families can barely make ends meet at $250,000 one minute, and the very next we’re talking about how teachers making $50,000 are making too much? I think it’s a great question.

The biggest argument against us has been the fact that public money pays my salary. But since the government bailout, that argument doesn’t hold as much weight as it did.
And sitting there saying that a family of 4 with college tuition to pay can’t make it on a quarter of a million dollars is offensive at best and riot-inducing at worst. Tell ya what, I’ll trade my salary for a salary of $250k and then I’ll get back to you on how I’m doing.
