Bing’s RoboCop downfall

A few days ago, I mentioned that Detroit’s mayor, Dave Bing, had come out against the idea of erecting a Robocop statue downtown. We’ve already discussed his tweets on the subject, but now there’s apparently video. The following footage comes from Detroit’s Michael Jackman.

    Or don’t contribute, because many of us who would actually have to live with this stupidity would appreciate that.

    This is NOT video of Dave Bing. This is Hitler. Please do your research!

    Why do you hate Hitler, Super Gay?

    I thought we already established that we could make the statue with interchangeable heads. So it could be RoboCop one day, and RoboAretha the next. What’s not to like about that. There’s a little something for everyone?

    What about a statue of RoboCop beating up Hitler? No one likes Hitler. It would be really popular.

    Now you’ve done it. The Kickstarter campaign, as of this morning, is fully funded.

    What if it were a HoboCop – a statue of an armed homeless man? Would people like that better?

    Or, better yet, how about HomoCop, Super Gay? Would that be a compromise that you could live with? It would be easy enough to add ass-less chaps to him once the hipsters get him built.

    $50,000 would go a long way to helping some blind kids in Detroit.

    That they put this up before a statue of Sir Graves Ghastly or Count Scary is an outrage.

    You’re right, Peter — why don’t you make a KickStarter thing for that?

    @Peter Larson

    Blind kids have never seen Robocop, and therefor have no idea how awesome it is.

    Good example on why Detroit will be a dust town in 10 years, the best idea they can think of to use public money and stimulate the economy is to build a statue. Wonder what the teacher who’s getting laid off this spring thinks of that.
