Reality TV, and the Ypsilanti Dating Game

I’ve just been informed that America’s Next Top Model is going to have an open casting call on the EMU campus Monday, July 12th. I’m tempted to go down there and see whether any of the girls trying out might be interested in doing a somewhat lower-budget version of the show for Dreamland Tonight, assuming, of course, they don’t get the call from Tyra Banks. I’ve been thinking for a while that it would be cool if we had a reality show within Dreamland Tonight, and I think something modeled after America’s Next Top Model may work well, especially if we could convince the girls to live together in the basement of the theater, amid the spiders, severed puppet parts and empty beer cans. I bet we could shoot an entire season in a week, if we never left the basement. And I’m certain that there would be tons of drama.

Speaking of Dreamland Tonight, we need a volunteer for next weekend’s show. We need a single young woman to participate in our Dating Game segment. We’ve got the male contestants pretty well figured out, but we need a woman to sit behind the screen and ask them questions. If you’d like to be considered, just drop me a line and we can talk… And, for what it’s worth, you don’t have to actually go out on the date with the guy that you choose if you don’t want to. But, if you do want to, the show can provide a chaperone. (I haven’t asked him, but I’m guessing that Bash Boulder would do it for a burger or two.)

We’re also looking for a furry to join us, but I don’t think we’ll have said furry participate as one of the bachelors. So, don’t worry about that. I just want to interview the furry about the appeal lifestyle and what it’s like to be at the bottom of a fur pile.

I should also mention that the next episode of Dreamland Tonight is scheduled to begin at 10:00 next Saturday night, and that no one under 18 will be admitted. Tickets are going to be limited, and they’ll go on sale at the Shadow Art Fair at noon on a first come first served basis. So, if you want tickets to this somewhat adult-themed show, you’d better get to the Brewery early. Tickets will be $10 a piece, and, for that, you’ll not only get to see our show, but you’ll get to stay afterward for the show by the band Paper Mice from Chicago.

I have a friend who just changed her Facebook status to single. I’ll ask her if she’s up for it.

What a conincidence. I just changed my Facebook status to “Yiffy”.
I’ll drop you a line, Mark.

Again, the furry will not be on the panel of the Dating Game… Unless, of course, there’s overwhelming consensus that we do so.

Let me know if you need bachelors. I’d love to help out.
