In addition to having a table at the upcoming Shadow Art Fair, the folks from the Ann Arbor Film Festival will be hosting a competition called Cinemasports at the day-long arts event. Here’s how they describe the activity:
Cinemasports is the “Iron Chef of filmmaking” in which self-assembled filmmaking teams are challenged to include assigned “ingredients” into 3-minute movies produced in 10 hours or less.
A prize of $100 will reward the film our AAFF/SAF jury deems most worthy. Formats accepted for final screening are: DVD, mini-DV and quicktime file. Filmmaking teams supply all their own equipment, time and talent.
It’s free to participate in this event as a filmmaking team or audience member. Space is limited to 25 teams, so we encourage you to sign up early to ensure your team a spot! SIGN UP HERE.
And, all of this happens during the July 10 Shadow Art Fair… “Ingredients” will be named in front of the Corner Brewery at 10:30 AM, and completed films will be screened at 9:30 PM in the beer garden behind the brewery. (Films must be submitted by 9:00 PM in order to qualify for the $100 Shadow Art Fair-funded award.)
