And, while we’re on the subject, new footage would seem to indicate that IDF snipers shot passengers on that Turkish aid boat before repelling onto the deck, not after, as has been claimed. At the very least, it seems like an independent investigation is called for.

The context of Colbert’s comment, for those who missed it, is that White House correspondent Helen Thomas was forced into retirement a few days ago after making a comment that Jews in the occupied territories should go back to the countries they came from.
Yes. I liked how Robert Gibbs condemned Helen’s comments, but not the actions of the IDF. Such a courageous administration we have.
Israel owns us, and I don’t see it changing, ever.
Watching those people trying to fight back against military helicopters with slingshots was heart breaking. I’ve come to the conclusion that we deserve a lot of the blame that’s directed toward us for our blind support of Israel.
Frankly, I’m beginning to think that the only solution in Palestine is the creation of one secular state which the borders of Israel and West Bank and Gaza all included, no walls, no border crossings within that area. To some extent, this would be like the re-unification of Germany and could finally lead to some peace and stablity.
