The Monkey Power Trio: famous for fifteen people

I got interviewed a while back by a website called, appropriately enough, Famous for 15 People. They wanted to talk about the one-day-a-year band that I’m in, the Monkey Power Trio, and our most recent record, Tearing Down the Parthenon. The podcast is now available online. Enjoy.

Whenever I try to think of the name of your band, I first remember it as “Monkey Love Bone”.

Lovely interview. All the chaps here in the pharmacy think so.

I like the part where you name the band member who you would like to see die first.

Fantastic interview. I love you guys, and I want to, in appreciation for your body of work, give you an idea that I’ve had. It’s for a concept album called Eye of Survivor. It’s about a poor Italian boy who grows up listening to Eye of the Tiger, by Survivor. It’s the only thing that he has in his miserable life, and, when he grows up, he swims to America, hunts down all the members of the band and cuts out their eyeballs. Then, at the end, he runs for president of America, wearing a knitted eyeball vest. I’ve got 8 of the songs written, and I think you would be the perfect collaborators.
