Marine biologist Rick Steiner came out a few days ago, in an interview with Time, and stated that the primary reason an oil company would use such chemicals is to keep oil off the ocean’s surface, where it can be photographed.

You’re such a conspiracy nut.
I thought that it was obvious from the beginning, but I hadn’t seen any confirmation in the press or elsewhere.
Jesus is the only answer. Prayer can work miracles to protect the most innocent from the abortive properties of chemical dispersants.
This was always obvious to me as well. I think BP’s response is to little, not soon enough, and technically inept.
I will never use a BP gas station again or any other BP product.
