Randy to Joel… you can’t overdose on placebos

This video clip of the Amazing Randy debunking the ridiculous practice of homeopathy, goes out to Alexa Ray Joel, the 23 year old daughter of Billy Joel, who, it would seem, recently attempted suicide by taking massive quantities of the homeopathic “medication” Traumeel… Here’s the relevant quote from the article in the Daily News:

…”Nothing would happen because there’s nothing in it,” said Dr. Lewis Nelson, a toxicologist at NYU Medical Center. “There’s no active ingredient. There’s nothing in these pills”…

Maybe she was making a statement about homeopathics.

I wouldn’t say that something that happened 5+ months ago “just” happened.

Wasn’t it about five months ago that Randy turned gay? I wonder if there’s a connection.

Alexa forced him to listen to Uptown Girl until he no longer had feelings for women.

Or for life itself, for that matter.

This is after she tried to shoot herself in the head with a hairdryer.

Thanks, Matt. I changed it from “just” to “recently.”

And, for what it’s worth, I wasn’t making light of her suicide attempt so much as I was taking the opportunity to mention my views on homeopathic medicine. If it was indeed a serious suicide attempt, my thoughts are with her and her family. Having dealt with the suicides of three relatives, I know how devastating that can be. It’s just difficult for me to read something about someone trying to overdose on homeopathic medicine and not think of Randy, who often takes handfuls of such things on stage.

And I do think the gay thing is probably related.
