Monkey Power on the air

2008WVEW, in Brattlesvboro, Vermont, is playing a Monkey Power Trio song right now. It’s called Winifred, and it’s on our most recent record, which is entitled Tearing Down the Parthenon… Anyway, it’s cool to flip on the radio and hear yourself trying to sing. If you haven’t tried it, you should.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Monkey Power Trio, another radio station, KFJC, which is right outside of San Francisco, did a four hour retrospective on us in 2008, which you can check out here.

I’m not sure what it means, but that song made me weep blood, which I haven’t done since Reagan died.

To rhyme apricot sauce with albatross is brilliant

    Thanks, Tommy.

Albatross, by the way, is delicious with apricot sauce.

And, yes, Edward, it is a song about making love to Winifred Dobbs. Thanks for asking.

If you want a chance to play Monkey Power records on the air in Ann Arbor, I hear that WCBN is looking to fill some summer slots.

Once again it’s the time of the year when most of the students leave
town which presents a problem for the student station, WCBN.org.

We need people to do radio 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you are interested in non-commercial, freeform radio and want to
know more, send a message to training AT wcbn DOT org or call
    763-3535.

Introductory training sessions are held year-round on Sunday at 4:00
at our studio in the basement of the student activities building
    (Thompson and Jefferson).

If you would like to get involved off the air, email volunteer AT wcbn DOT org.

    Andrew
