Last night, someone directed me toward a series of photos showing a man getting glasses tattooed on his face. I hoped, for the sake of the guy in the photos, that it was just a joke, or a stupid viral marketing campaign, and then moved on to other more important matters, like wrapping my mind around the concept of vagazzaling. But, today, I couldn’t get the photos out of my head. There was something about the woman in the background that I just couldn’t place, and it nagged at me. I knew her from somewhere, but I wasn’t sure. But, then, on the way home from work, it occurred to me who she was. She was a participant on an obscure reality show on the Bravo network about New York actors trying to make it in Hollywood. The show was called The It Factor.
I couldn’t remember her name, or anything else that would help me verify hunch, though. As there weren’t any cast photos online, or much at all written about the show for that matter, there wasn’t much to go on. I was almost to the point of giving up. Then, I remembered that her brother was also on the show, and searched again. This time, I found Danny Rivas, and, with a few more searches, I found his sister’s first name. Then, it was just a matter of assuming they shared a last name and searching IMDB for Sara Rivas… And here she is.
So, am I right? Is it the same person in both photos? And, if so, is it possible that this was an acting job, and that she’s not really this guy’s girlfriend?
I feel like I should win something.

It’s such a sad story, young women coming to LA with hopes of becoming stars, and ending up with guys with tattooed faces. It’s an epidemic. There should be a Scared Straight kind of after school movie about it.
Stalker of the Year?
That’s her, with a little bit more reality showing on her face.
Congratulations.
Upon further research, here’s a video of the dork getting his tattoo.

Mark, I remember the It Factor, too, but I can’t believe you remembered someone from that show. Funny how our brains work.
I’m pretty sure it’s Molly Ringwold’s sister Dargy.
Congratulations, I guess.
I don’t think the stalker label works in this instance. Maybe if he’d been searching through Flickr desperately looking for images of her I could see that. But this doesn’t sound like what happened.
Congratulations Mr. Maynard on a job well done. Now go and put this on your resume.
I happen to have grown up with Molly Ringwald and her sisters, and I can say with confidence that none of them went by Dargy. Their names were Elizabeth and Kelly.
I just came across this on a Reddit thread about these face tattoo photos.
Publicity stunt. It does look like the tattoo is real, but if you click on the youtube link provided on his flickr account it will take you to a video by neverhidefilms. If you look at the website of neverhidefilms youtube profile you will find: 1. Their website is listed as rayban.com and 2. The only channel they list under “Favorite Channels” is rayban.
Nice detective work, Maynard. Now try it with someone who is not hot. See how easy that is.
So, is the consensus that this was a Rayban stunt? I hate viral marketing bullshit. I don’t like companies trying to trick me. Isn’t it enough that they sell us overpriced crap that doesn’t last more than a season? I don’t need to have them playing games on top of that… Anyway, I’m happy if my revelation that she was an actress had anything to do with the whole thing being figured out.
And I don’t need to search for ugly people, Robert. They find me.
As a former employee of Luxottica, the Italian company that owns most eyeglass brand and retail locations, this is a total fake. Never Hide is the Ray Ban slogan. They are a disgusting company that owns so much making it impossible to avoid them!
Yup, Rayban came out and admitted it.
At what point do you accept the fact that you aren’t going to make it as an actress and give it up?
Looks like they’re at it again.
