Our outspoken drummer friend Moe Tucker reunited with her perpetually grumpy Velvet Underground collaborator Lou Reed a few days ago for an appearance at the New York Public Library, coinciding with the release of the new book, “The Velvet Underground: New York Art.” The event, I’m told, sold out in less than four minutes… probably due to the fact that people thought that they’d be playing. They didn’t play, though. Instead, they sat around and talked for about an hour with Rolling Stone’s David Fricke about everything from that early show at the New Jersey high school to the role that Andy Warhol played in the band. I suppose, if you’re not already a fan, it probably wouldn’t interest you all that much, but I found it to be absolutely fascinating.
You can listen here:
Speaking of Warhol… I think this kid from the television show Glee is a dead ringer for the artist as a young man.

Reed’s a pisser.
We must strip Reed of his committee assignments!!! Enough is Enough!!!
Moe!
When will people realize the genius of the Velvets was about80% Sterling Morrison? Listen to every single post VU record by either Lou or Cale. SUCK-O.
Sterling is the most influential, least recognized rock guitarist off all time…I think.
Who needs Sweet Jane when you can have Sweet Jamie?

Why can’t that Lou Reed be nice like David Bowie?
Cale was their pet monkey, right?
