Apparently the folks at the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) don’t have a problem with videotaped sex acts. At least, it seems from their site that they aren’t turning their backs on the disgraced beauty queen, Carrie Prejean. She’s still there, smiling, on the front page. Then again, I’m not sure they have a lot of options when it comes to spokespeople. As you’ll recall, the last time NOM made the news, it was for using actors to play regular Americans outraged over same sex marriage.
update: I just found mention of the fact that Maggie Gallagher, the head of NOM, was in DC this weekend, sitting angrily in the audience at a gay rights rally. Questioned about Prejean afterward, Gallagher said, “I don’t have all the facts.” According to DC Metro Weekly, Gallagher then went on to say that Prejean did not work for NOM and was not a spokesperson for the organization… which, given the fact that Prejean has said that she worked with them, seems unlikely.
