My friend Pete turned me on to this incredible cello piece the other day by Alisa Weilerstein, and I’ve probably listened to it thirty times since then. I’m a sucker for solo cello, so maybe I’m not the best judge, but I’m really finding her interpretation of Zoltán Kodály’s Cello Sonata to be incredibly moving…. And, thanks to YouTube, you can judge for yourself.
Pour yourself a glass of wine… it’s time for a cello break

Wow! That makes me really upset for not knowing enough about her to go to her performance at Hill Auditorium last month.
Damnit, Maynard. Where was this post a month ago?
