Too bad no paparazzi were around to see it, but I just ran in to Daniel Johnston at the Detroit Metro airport, capping off a great rock and roll weekend…. More later.

How come only your fingers and toes get prune in the shower and nothing else does?
Was he changing planes, or did he play here again?
isn’t there supposed to be a pencil drawing here?
wtf.
I think Mark might be telling the truth.
Daniel may have been traveling between Ontario and San Francisco.

San Francisco, California – Regency Ballroom
When you say “ran in to” do you mean you stalked him through the terminal?
When you say “great rock and roll weekend” do you mean … http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BXGh3uZWBE
Good call on the drawing. It didn’t even occur to me. I’ll get working on it… As for my time with him, we didn’t really talk. I was going up an escalator and he was going down an escalator. There was a staircase between us. I said, “Hey, Daniel,” and I think he may have kind of glanced over. He certainly didn’t wave back like he knew me, which is understandable, given that we’ve only met a couple of times…. He seemed to be alone, which concerned me. (Until recently, he traveled with his dad. Lately, he’s been traveling with his brother. But he seemed to be alone when I saw him.)
I could have turned around and caught up to him, but I was heading to a function at Celmentine’s school…. Some day, I will remind her of that.
And, yes, Socks Drop, that’s what I meant. Me and the Monkey Power Trio fellows completed our 15th day as a band this weekend, in Georgia. The song on that clip isn’t very good, but there were some good tunes this session. The best one was about chiasmus. Hopefully you can buy a record soon.
