Television’s Richard Lloyd in Ann Arbor tonight

sftu

I’m trying to decide whether or not I should go out to this show tonight at the Heidelberg, in hopes of getting an interview with Television’s Richard Lloyd.

I don’t think I’ve been to the Heidelberg in about 15 years, since the time they shut the power off on my band, Prehensile Monkey-tailed Skink, because we refused to stop playing… I don’t suspect that I’m still on any kind of terrorist watch list there, but it’ll be weird going back in there as a relatively quiet old man with a bad back.

[One of these days, I’ll find some of the old Skink tapes and figure out how to post them here. I think you guys might like them.]

probably worth the effort as Richard is said to be as crazy as it gets. Friends saw him a few months ago in both Detroit & Cleveland. The entire band quit on him en route to Cleveland and he did the show solo, playing for HOURS. The bartenders finally shut the power out on him as he refused to stop playing every song he knew.

    So did you go?

Thanks for the note, Bob. It sounds like Lloyd and I would have hit it off.

Sadly, though, I didn’t make it out of the house.

I’ve mentioned it here before, but I kind of suck when it comes to following through with stuff.

I was in bed at 10:00.

That’s what usually happens on weekends. I stay up late all week, working on the blog, and on weekends I catch up on my sleep.

I’m thinking about writing to Lloyd, though, and seeing if we could do an interview.

Mark, I can hook you up with that Richard LLoyd interview request. I left my email in the post comment form.

Much appreciated, Jim. I’ll drop you a line and set something up.
