Remember back when we were called unpatriotic fucks for suggesting that Bush’s Patriot Act ran contrary to the Bill of Rights? Remember how we said that once we gave the government warrantless
access to people’s homes, that they’d abuse it – and how people on the right told us that we were just being paranoid? Well, it looks like we were right. According to testimony of a Department of Justice official, only 3 out of 763 “sneak-and-peek” searches in FY ’08 were related to terrorism… 65% were drug-related.
And, speaking of civil rights, my friend Kez in Pittsburgh tells me that they’ve outlawed urine-filled balloons there for the duration of the G8 talks… I don’t know that there’s been any kind of coordinated response, but I’d think, at the very least, there should be some “Urine Bombers are People Too” signs at the rally.

Whoa! Didn’t see that comin’.
‘Cause I’m stupid.
Where is everybody all of a sudden? You people make me sick.
Heaping tablespoon of bacon grease for the total repeal of the Patriot Act, waitin’ to go.
BA, are you offering up your ass in exchange for the repeal of the Patriot Act?
If so, thank you. You’re a true patriot.
I doubt my ass would add up to a level tablespoon.
Soon, they’ll just be rolling up and snatching people off the streets.
**sigh**
Yeah, the Patriot Act is terrible and Obama is trying to renew it.
