Capitalizing on animal cruelty

It hasn’t been one week since the story of the cat wrapped in duct tape and left for dead in Philadelphia hit the national news, and already the folks at JoAnn Fabrics are looking to cash in.

Letters of complaint from cat lovers can be submitted to the company here.

No one should profit from animal cruelty.

[And, yes, I was shopping at JoAnn Fabrics this morning.]

The fact that I’m upset by this is pretty ironic, given that I’d gone to JoAnn to buy fabric for a Michael Vick puppet that I’m making.

haha…update on the cat catastrophe…the criminal was a 19 year-old. He’s now being charged with “cruelty to animals and possession with an instrument (duct-tape) of crime.”

I don’t get it. Those are supposed to be cat-mummies for Halloween aren’t they? Sometimes I don’t understand your humor, Mark.

Robert, are you suggesting that it’s OK to duct tape cats, as long as it’s just at Halloween? Cat mummification is NEVER funny.

Yes, Carol, to be honest, I did think it was alright to duct tape cats as long as it was part of a Halloween costume or display. Different people have different senses of humor. Some people even like Seth Rogan.

I’ve never had better luck getting laid than at Joanne Fabrics. Seriously, if you don’t mind hairspray, grotesquely embellished sweaters and big earrings, it’s an awesome place to find some companionship.

I am going to tattoo this advice on my forearm in case I ever get dumped by my wife and find myself suffering from amnesia.
