“Calling all John Galts in Georgia”

I don’t want to make light of the tragedy taking place in Georgia right now, but I couldn’t help but chuckle at this Daily Kos post asking for principled teabaggers to stand up for what they believe in and demand that the federal government not intrude into their personal lives by providing emergency aid. I found this particularly humorous as three of this site’s worst trolls ever were from Georgia. One of them, if I remember correctly, even posted under the name John Galt… Anyway, here’s how the earnest appeal to Peach State patriots begins:

We really need your help.

As you may have seen in the newspapers, radio and the intertubes, much of the state of Georgia is underwater. People have lost their homes, cars and other precious things…

But foolishly, they are looking to the Government for help.

Starting with our Governor Sonny ‘rugged individualist’ Perdue, they are now calling on the Government to help.

That’s where we need you John Galts and teabaggers who really, really want the Government out of all our lives…

While we’re on the subject, I think it would be great if someone would go back and find some sound bites of far-right Atlanta radio personalities like Neal Boortz discussing the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and then compare them to what he’s saying today about the struggles of people in Georgia. I suspect the difference would be enlightening.

We need an Any Rand utopia. Somewhere for all the delusional people to go, who feel as though, left to their own devices, they’d be wildly successful warlords or whatever. They’d be wallowing in their own waste after a week or two.

In other Georgia news, it looks as though they’ve changed their state flag.
