Al Franken endears himself to me

Senator Al Franken has gotten a lot of attention online this week for the thoughtful way in which he addressed the concerns of his constituents on healthcare at the Minnesota State Fair. What hasn’t gotten nearly as much attention, however, is the fact that, at the same fair, he also drew the whole fucking United States from memory.

If I could wish for one thing this Labor Day, it would be to have video of George W. Bush attempting the same. I can’t even begin to imagine what his vision of our nation would look like.

    If anyone can find video of this which includes the audio of Franken talking, please let me know. I’d love to hear what he’s talking about as he draws each state.

    I was going to give it a shot and post mine here, along with Franken’s, but then it occurred to me that I’d look stupid. It might be a dyslexia thing, but I’m terrible with direction and spacial stuff.
