I’ve mentioned Shai Agassi here on the site before, but I just stumbled across this video of him presenting his Better Place concept at the recent TED conference, and I thought that you might find it of interest… I don’t know that his idea will ultimately be the one to actually make it, but I like the fact that at least someone out there isn’t just thinking about different ways to fuel our vehicles, but entirely different models for providing mobility altogether.

I’ll admit that I didn’t watch it all, but is the general idea that you buy the car, and on top of that pay for the miles traveled? And in return this company promises to always have charged batteries ready for you?
