I know no one will believe me, but it said “Rick Rolled” when I posted it.

Fuckin’ gremlins, makin’ me look unhip.

There’s a song in that line, somewhere.

Mark, you were unhip before it was hip to be unhip.

Like: “I’m the punchline in the joke of my life. Happy Thanksgiving, soul drinkers.”

It was that moment when the Republican National Convention got Obama-Rolled when it was pretty clear the GOP was in trouble. See the link for the video clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XDq49cORkY

I imagine it’s horse shit, but I read somewhere that Astley didn’t know he’d be performing that song until he walked out. If true, it’s hilarious. It never even occurred to me to rick roll Rick himself. (According to this theory, he was hired to sing one of his new songs, and the technicians on the float substituted the old classic at the last minute without him knowing.)

And that’s a great piece of footage, Robert. Thanks.

I was completely without context so I consulted Wikipedia. Am I correct that the whole reason Rick Astley was singing in the (New York?) parade is because of the internet joke? And did he, in fact, Rick roll a float?

    It’s a joke within a joke?

I think I’m proud I know nothing about this.

If you’re proud to know this, I can just imagine how you’ll feel when you consult Wikipedia about goatse, Doulicia.
