I know it’s not much notice, but remember my coverage of last year’s Tour de Fresh? Remember how, when you read it, you kicked yourself for not getting your bike out and joining us? Well, it’s that time of year again. Don’t make the same mistake twice… Here are the details from our friends at Growing Hope:
Tour de Fresh! Garden & Sustainable Food System Tour
Tuesday, September 16 5-8:30 pmIn many communities, including Ypsilanti, barriers in access to healthy, fresh food are being overcome by people working towards strong, sustainable local food systems. Community & school gardens, urban micro-farms, local groceries, co-ops, and farmers’ markets are some of the ways people in our community are creating opportunities for food production & healthy food access, all while supporting local economies. The Tour de Fresh will feature some of these efforts in Ypsilanti. Sign-in begins at 4:30pm at our Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers’ Market (MI Ave & Hamilton), tour leaves at 5:00pm, ending with a light meal made by local gardeners! Rain or shine, all ages welcome! Bicycle support and volunteers from Bike Ypsi. Join us on either the driving or cycling tour by emailing info@growinghope.net to reserve your spot today! Suggested donation $1-20.
