jad fair and r stevie moore

Here’s a hot tip for all of my readers in New York. I just got an email from my friend Jad. He’s got an art show running now at a place in the city called Cake Shop (152 Ludlow), and he’ll be performing there the evening of September 26. If you’ve never seen Jad play, you should check him out. Between his paper cuts and his music, I’m sure you’ll have a great time. And, as if that weren’t enough, the legendary R. Stevie Moore is going to be playing that night as well. Here’s a video of RSM performing on the Uncle Floyd Show, which I kind of vaguely remember from when I was growing up in New Jersey.

Sounds like you’re probably a WFMU fan. I’m a very devoted woof-mooer too, so, hooray for us I guess.

Now that John Peel is dead in the UK, and Brave New Waves is off the air in Canada, WFMU is the only stations in the world that plays by band’s stuff with any regularity. A few college stations play it a bit, but they’ve been good about playing it a lot. So, yeah, I like WFMU… God bless WFMU.

I usually am sickened by the site of bathrobes, but I don’t think I’ve seen a stage costume better match a song, ever. That dude is great. I think I bought one of his cassettes once, but I can’t find it. Yay New Jersey weirdos.

Also, maybe more stations would play your band if you finished up the ’07 artwork so we could get our new release out. Sayin’.

I’m working on the artwork today, Dan. So don’t worry. We’ll have the new records out in plenty of time for Christmas.
