al gore at the netroots nation conference

I was going to post video of Gore’s appearance on “Meet the Press” this morning, but then I happened across this footage of Gore speaking in Austin, Texas yesterday at the Netroots Nation convention, and I thought that it was quite a bit more interesting and inspiring. Hopefully, you’ll agree.

update: It’s probably also worth noting that it was 39 years ago today that Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon. They said that couldn’t be done too, but, as it turns out, it was. And, I might add, it was fucking cool.

I watched some of this on CSPAN or something tonight. It lacked the motion sickness of the blogger cam, and included a lot more Pelosi, but was otherwise okay.

Yeah, the quality isn’t great – lots of bouncing around – but I like what he has to say… I’d listen to him if he were on a jackhammer.

Great speech! Thanks for posting Mark.

Al Gore for Vice President. Obama-Gore in 2008. It’d be a first in American political history — picking a VP candidate who personally stood to lose more by running for VP than by not doing so. A senior statesman with brains & experience & vision. Obama would bring much to the Obama campaign and Obama administration that is needed — but he’d have to calculate that he could get more done for saving the earth by being in government than he can out of government.
