just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse

In case you didn’t catch it in the “Washington Post,” it looks like the government is trying to suppress a report concerning the toxicity of the entire Great Lakes region. Here’s a clip:

The lead author and peer reviewers of a government report raising the possibility of public health threats from industrial contamination throughout the Great Lakes region are charging that the report is being suppressed because of the questions it raises….

    Suppression of information is one of the most cost effective ways of dealing with any problem. It’s good to see the Administration demonstrating fiscal responsibility.

    If there were any sun here, I’d suggest paving over the entire region with solar panels. Most of the people and animals are already gone.

    More complete info about this topic can be found at the Center for Public Integrity. They do lots of fun, hope filled work (note sarcasm here). For instance, in another report they scrupulously document the 935 lies Mr. Bush & friends told to get the nation into a war with Iraq… but reasons for impeachment are likely off topic.

    I’d love the world to believe that the Great Lakes are polluted … so they’d stop asking us to send them/buy our/bottle our water and they’d NOT move here. I like it just the way it is … as we are surrounded by more than 20% of the world’s fresh water … which is quite potable, thank you.
