john edwards – grownup for president

I didn’t catch the last Democratic debate, so I’m watching it now online. I’d heard that Obama and Clinton went at each other, and that Edwards came out looking the most presidential, but I had no idea just how dramatic the contrast would be. Hopefully, the voters of South Carolina were watching… And Edwards didn’t do too badly on Letterman last night either… Too bad he’s only getting a fraction of the media coverage that the other two candidates are getting. My sense is that if people heard the message, he’d be winning these primaries.

Speaking of John, who still is the finest wallpaper candidate I’ve seen, where’s Robert? Was he really assassinated?

Edwards has come out against giving immunity to the telecoms who participated in the Bush administration’s warrantless spying on American citizens. Obama and Clinton have not.

Did you hear about this? Not only did he cheat on his wife, he may have stolen money from his campaign fund.

Maybe Obama did the right thing not making him Attorney General.

The moment the affair came out, he was out of the running for AG.

John Edwards seems to have had the Gary Hart syndrome. I honestly believe these guys get freaked out when they sense how well positioned they are to become the next President, and as a result go all haywire in their personal choices. It looks like subconscious self sabotage to me. I don’t know how else to explain the incredibly idiotic behavior.

I try not to be most enraged by the fact that I didn’t put the clues together back in Iowa.

It was a very good thing that we lost that caucus.

If you want to torture yourself, Elizabeth Edwards will be on Oprah tomorrow talking about all this.
