greenspan states the obvious — we’re in iraq for the oil

According to reports today, former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan’s upcoming memoir, “The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World,” includes the following quote:

“I’m saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows — the Iraq war is largely about oil.”

Of course, he didn’t have the balls to say so six years ago, before the lives of nearly 4,000 American soldiers and countless Iraqis were lost.
