the memory drive

My friend Steve, who handles all the technical stuff behind the scenes at, tells me that we need more memory. He says that for about $160, we could upgrade our memory from 512MB (what we’re running on now), to 2GB, the max our “board” can handle. I have no idea what any of this means, but Steve tells me that, if we do it, it’ll mean that his site and mine would stand a better chance of withstanding a “spammer pounding.” You know those times when you come to, all excited to see what I’ve written, and your screen says that the site doesn’t exist? Well, that would happen less often. Anyway, Steve’s set up a special Paypal account for it, and he’s even made a little graphic showing how far we still have to go. You can see it if you look to your right. As of right now, we’ve got $100, so we’re almost all the way there. If you could contribute a dollar or two, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

[And, if this works, I want to see about raising the $300 it would take for Steve and me to get the matching silk jumpsuits we’ve been pining for.]

Just think of all the tinfoil hats you could make for $300.

“It requires no stretch of the imagination to conclude that the current helmet craze is likely to have been propagated by the Government, possibly with the involvement of the FCC. We hope this report will encourage the paranoid community to develop improved helmet designs to avoid falling prey to these shortcomings.”

I’m really impressed. You guys came through with $60 in about 24 hours, and put us over the top. The memory has been ordered, and soon you will experience the rewards of your investment…. Thanks.

It’s been requested by several young women in the audience that I no longer talk about my tattered blogging leotard. Apparently the thought of it made them ill. Sorry, Hillary.

Of all the things on your site that make me ill, your blogging leotard isn’t one of them.

By the way, the memory upgrade is done. Thanks everyone who donated.

I think the only really fair way to do it would be to charge the people who post the dumbest comments for the cost of the memory upgrade…oh, wait…that would be me…nevermind.

That’s great, Mark. Since you suggested jumpsuits, I’ve been thinking that we should get outfits like Ursa, Non and General Zod.

That was a typo. I meant to say, “We can post pictures with our comments?”
