solar in ypsi

Hillary Cherry’s mention of Germany’s “100,000 Roofs” solar initiative in her comments following my last post reminded me that Dave Strenski has another local speaking engagement coming up. In it, I believe he’ll be talking about the practicality of solar in Michigan, how one goes about setting up a system, etc. The talk will take place January 24, at 7:00 PM, at the Whittaker Road branch of the Ypsi Public Library. (For information on the photovoltaic system Dave and Paula Strenski recently setup at the Ypsi Food Co-op, see the PDF they’ve got up at Sustainable Ypsi dot org. It’s really interesting stuff.)

In the process of re-registering to leave comments I’ve completely forgotten what it was that I wanted so desperately to say.

Your first confirmation bounced off a bad gmail account. I see you’ve registered as Ted Glass, Teddy Glass, Teddy Glass Esq., and Theodore Glass Esq. (my personal favorite). What’re you tryin’ to pull Mr. Glass?

That solar setup is well done and about half the cost of setups I’ve been considering. Ypsi food coop rules.

Just FYI … Ypsilanti HDC was very impressed with the Co-op setup, and eagerly approved the installation. Kudos to the co-op and building owners, including my buddy Don McMullen who records his dreams during the night using a 30-60-90 triangle and a protractor.
