A few years ago, I lamented the fact that I couldn’t find footage of the Honeybees performing their song “You Need Us” anywhere on the internet. Well, I’ve just been informed by our friend Terry Gilmer that it’s finally available… Now if someone could just point me toward the rest of that pterodactyl film… I don’t think I can wait two more years.
….OK, is the coast clear now? I wanted to link to this article condemning the veiling of Muslim women a few days ago, but I’ve been waiting for just the right opportunity to slip it in under the radar, so as not to become the target of anyone’s wrath. And, I think that this is probably as good a place as any. Jihadists, I’m guessing, don’t usually keep reading after a reference to “Gilligan’s Island” has been made.

The Honeybees…that’s great. But what about the Mosquitoes, and Harold Hecuba doing his one man musical version of Hamlet, and Mary Ann singing (some vampish song) as Ginger?
Did you know that you can sing Amazing Grace to the tune of the Gilligan’s Island theme song?
Phil Silvers, for those of you who don’t know, played Hecuba.
And the episode, I believe, was directed by the great Ida Lupino.
