the synchronicity of the black veil

Given all the talk lately about veils, I found it interesting that I should just now happen across the Nathaniel Hawthorne short story “The Minister’s Black Veil.” I’m not quite sure what to make of it.

    So, we’re all wearing these metaphorical veils. I get it. It’s terrible. But, a metaphorical veil doesn’t obscure your identity on a drivers license.

    You shouldn’t make quick work of analyzing that one Mark. That’s one of Hawthorne’s most important and most interpreted works.
