so, this is family values

According to an FBI report released yesterday, violent crime in 2005 increased at the highest rate in 15 years. The Washington Post reports that this is in part due to “a surge of killings and other attacks in many Midwestern cities.” In related news, it’s also being reported today that the occurrence of violent crime in Ann Arbor has increased by 35% during the last year alone.

If you’re like me, I know you’re scratching your head right now and wondering how it could be possible that this could happen under a “family values” leader like George Bush, a man who was supposed to, through his faith-based initiatives, the power of prayer, and strength of his moral character, put our nation back on the right spiritual course. (You’ll remember how the nation yearned for his upright moral leadership after being so demoralized by Bill Clinton’s unfortunate act of sodomy.) Surely, there must be a mistake, right?

Or… I wonder… Could this perhaps have something to do with the economy, the mass-exportation of jobs, the steady erosion of the American middle class, the growing feeling of hopelessness and despair, the cost of healthcare, and the crushing debt beneath which so many Americans struggle today… Oh, and it probably doesn’t hurt that we’re living in a society that sanctions preemptive war, disregards the Geneva Convention and condones the use torture.

True, of course. But I’m sorry to remind you that the mass exportation of jobs began under Clinton.

I’m sure 9/11 is to blame. Those damned Iraqi terrorists ruined everything with the help of our homegrown liberal elitists.

And the rate of abortions went up under Bush too. Let’s not forget that.

The people who ellected him because they wanted a more Christian country were unable to see the picture and it’s thanks to them that we’ll be cleaning up this shit for decades. Economics and so-called “morality” go hand in hand.

    ..began under Clinton,…
… after Bush 41 set the stage (by signing that giant sucking sound).

Clinton could have stopped it though.

Thank God, I thought I was the only one w/ such radical commie theories. Didn’t want of your more wise writers write something like, “Jesus, will somebody give this guy a blowjob already so we can get things back to normal around here?”.

And, it should be pointed out, Bush has also been de-funding law enforcement.
