the most pressing priorities facing our nation

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said in a Fox News interview this morning that the most pressing priorities facing our nation today are gay marriage and flag burning. If you disagree, you can reach the Senator here… I’m planning to call tomorrow to wish him a happy Memorial Day and remind him that there’s a fellow out there named Osama bin Laden who’s encouraging people around the world to wipe our country off the map. And then, if there’s still time on the machine, I might tell him about the melting glaciers.

Too … remind Frist that the VP sill has half a box of 12-gauge shells in his H2 glovebox (ammobox) and would love to have Frist out for a hunt.
Yawn … stretch … was I dreaming or what?

… a few more scribbles re: Frist, following the Memorial Day Parade in Ypsi …

. ignorance of citizenship responsibilities in US … “think not what thjis country can do for you…” etc.
. racism … compounded by “poor us” and Cosby confusion
. anti-semitism … even the new Pope can’t spit out the words without choking on them
. religious fundamentalism … of all stripes, but especially in the US
. prescription drug abuse paid for by BSBCM … “take two … it’s legal”
. jobs … here’s a few more jobs for Willow Run, now hand over 400 million in tax abatements
. taxes … “Where Did All The Money Go, Long Time Passin’?”
. anti-Chicano US Congress … yah, let’s punish the people who WILL do our dirty work, subsidize those who won’t, and deport the rest … duh?
. poor performance in the US Senate … oink, oink, oink
. Cheny with ammo in his H2 … wanna buy a duck?
. satisfaction with the status quo … and what do we do? we roll over after our burgers and beer and pretend it never happened

I want to be gay so bad. I want to be married in front of a burning flag, on the steps of a Planned Parenthood clinic, by a scientist.

I guess Mr. Frist just doesn’t understand the gravitas of unearthing the decaying remains of former labor leaders, or the similarly decaying Dahlmann’s Depot.

The way I heard the story, the Harvard guy is sailing with his wife and son. And the son looks just like the Mexican fisherman.
