I heard today that there’s a hidden feature on the DVD release of the animated film “The Incredibles.” Apparently, if you hit a certain combination of buttons when viewing the second disk, and then click on the image of the “omnidroid,” you’ll be shown a 4-minute version of the film done with sock puppets. Less than a minute after hearing that, I moved “The Incredibles” up to the top of my Netflix list… How cool would it be if every film released on DVD included a sock puppet version? I’d love to see a sock puppet version of “Basic Instinct 2.0.” I’d watch all kinds of shit that I wouldn’t look at otherwise. I’m sure the novelty would wear off eventually, as it has with the bunny re-enactors, but I can’t think of anything that I’d find cooler right now.

This reminds me of a production of Macbeth by Tiny Ninja Theater, which does other Shakespeare plays using tiny ninja figurines. First came across the ads for this in NYC in 2000, and finally managed to catch TNT Macbeth in DC circa 2003. Brilliant.
For the record, “Sock Puppet Deepthroat” is my intellectual property.
OK, I own the idea of remaking all the Kami Andrews movies with such puppets.
My next solo record, I promise you all, will be entitled “Sock Puppet Deepthroat.”
