missing link from sea to land creatures found?

I can’t wait to read the inevitable press release from Ken Ham once he and his “scientists” have been able to do their “scientific analysis” in their high-tech “science lab”… Here’s a clip from the New York Times:

Scientists have discovered fossils of a 375-million-year-old fish, a large scaly creature not seen before, that they say is a long-sought missing link in the evolution of some fishes from water to a life walking on four limbs on land.

In two reports today in the journal Nature, a team of scientists led by Neil H. Shubin of the University of Chicago say they have uncovered several well-preserved skeletons of the fossil fish in sediments of former streambeds in the Canadian Arctic, 600 miles from the North Pole.

The skeletons have the fins, scales and other attributes of a giant fish, four to nine feet long. But on closer examination, the scientists found telling anatomical traits of a transitional creature, a fish that is still a fish but has changes that anticipate the emergence of land animals — and is thus a predecessor of amphibians, reptiles and dinosaurs, mammals and eventually humans…

Dr. Shubin’s team played down the fossil’s significance in the raging debate over Darwinian theory, which is opposed mainly by some conservative Christians in this country, but other scientists were not so reticent. They said this should undercut the argument that there is no evidence in the fossil record of one kind of creature becoming another kind.

update: Ken Ham’s “preliminary response” can now be found at the Answers in Genesis site.

In examining the photograph you posted, it appears that the animal has a pair of glass-like wings projecting from its back.

Could this, perhaps, also be the ancestor of Wonder Woman’s invisible jet?

I’m told that the wings make it extra absorbent.

Oh, please. I think it’s quite obvious that this recent so-called discovery is nothing more than another of God’s tests for His faithful. The Evolutionists have controlled this debate for years and only recently have the Creationists regained some of the ground they had lost since their big Scopes Monkey Trial victory. Truth be told, they’ve gotten a little cocky with their recent success so, God, in all his brilliance, has given the world viruses that evolve so quickly that their evolving cannot be denied and, now, another “piece” in the evolution “puzzle”. What good is faith if you don’t have to use it?

An apeman “missing link” fossil was also discovered in Ethiopa recently. Google “missing link” and “Ethiopia” and you’ll find lots of coverage.

I’m going to googel “Charles Darwin is the Devil” right now and see what comes up.
