concerning democrats and zombies

I didn’t think it was possible, but my dad was able to take my recent zombie-related activities and interpret them as further evidence of my rapid descent down the icy slope toward Communism. I tried to explain to him that the zombie movement knows no ideology, and that I was marching right along-side undead Bush supporters, but he persisted, ultimately presenting me with this video footage proving conclusively that zombies and Democrats are one in the same. (As an aside, I should mention that I have always hated Bob Hope.)

I hope you don’t think *I’m* the Bush supporter.

But hating Bob Hope is definitely a sign of Communism.

Bob Hope + Asshole on Google turns lots of stuff up. Like this piece about his womanizing:

    http://blogs.citypages.com/amadzine/2003/07/bob_hope_womani.asp

    Here’s a nice quote:

His longtime secretary Jan King summed him up best: “He’s a lecher who had women stashed all over town.” His payroll was always filled with his latest girlfriends, and he actually had an apartment building close to his house filled with his current “dates”. (He even had an employee whose job was to make sure the girls got their monthly payoffs.) Hope never met a beauty queen he couldn’t– and wouldn’t– hit on, which was his main reason for emceeing so many pageants over the years.

    Unfunny scumbag.

Gives the words “Bob Hope Invitational” new meaning.

If we do take to the streets in DC, I suggest that we do so as non-partisan zombies, welcoming Republicans to join us in asking for Bush to step down.

Is it possible that Zombie could become a viable thrid party?

It looks like it’s from King of the Zombies.

It’s in the public domain, and you can legally download a copy with BitTorrent at http://www.publicdomaintorrents.com/nshowmovie.html?movieid=211 That’s where I saw the screen cap at 15:09 and thought it looked about right.

The screen cap at 15:09 does show a group of three people, and I think it’s probably safe to assume that they’re talking about zombies, given the title of the film, but I think that’s where the similarity ends. If you look closely, George, you’ll notice that instead of a tall white woman on the left there is a small black man. And, none of the three appear to be Bob Hope… I also checked the IMDB link and it doesn’t list Bob Hope in the credits.

I just did a bit of digging and my guess is that it’s The Ghost Breakers (1940).

Speaking of public domain film, I’ve always wanted to do something with it, but it’s one of those things that I’ve just never had time to pursue. It seems to me, however, that it would be pretty doable to create something new using all the public domain stuff available of someone like Bela Lugosi.

That. sir, is where you and I differ! I happen to walk around blindly, with dead eyes.

Or you could just endear yourself to the man, take some footage of him, and then use it to get financing for an awful movie about aliens reanimating the dead. With Tor Johnson.

But what old, lonely, broke actors do we have around today that I could take advantage of? Who’s our generation’s Bela Lugosi?

Good point… I don’t think he’s quite ripe yet though. He needs another 35 years or so to season.

I was thinking last night that Robert Blake would have been perfect, if not for the fact that he’s a murderer.
