happy halloween from ypsilanti

(The bee in the sweater is Clementine, and the lion is her friend Ian. The photos were taken by Ian’s mom, our friend Elizabeth. You can’t see it from these photos, but Clementine has a little stinger hanging off her bottom. It’s cute. Linette, being the great and resourceful mom that she is, made the outfit from things we had around the house and a roll of yellow electrical tape. If we only had a beekeeper’s outfit, it would be perfect.)

Please tell me that she did not make the wings. Please, please, please say it isn’t so. From a mother who got into a F*%#@ng bidding war on ebay for her son’s costume .

BTW, you must let us know if Clementine in her progressive upbringing has a “princess” phase. This is what my 3 yo insists on and as a compromise she will allowed me to attach a sticker to her pink chiffon that says either: “my mother’s worst nightmare” or “pervasive feminist oppresion brought to you by the people at Disney”. Of course, I will tell her it says, “Princess of the Universe” either that or Cinderella.

Clementine’s beauty is stunning. I am glad that Linette’s genes are the dominant in her phenotype. Just kidding…the blonde hair is a nice touch.

I don’t know who to believe – John who says she looks like a dog dressed up in a costume, or Chris who says that she’s stunning.

Whatever it is, it sure ain’t the “Avian Influenza” I’ve been waiting for.

Hmmmm…. This is confusing. At 8:49, when that last comment was left, I was miles away from home, eating Indian food. And I was nowhere near a computer… Apparently, there’s another Mark now.

And, yes, Brett, she was on the Avian Flu. Linette nixed the idea. The bee was her idea.

The other Mark must have used your computer because it says [Member] next to the name. Do you lock your doors?

OK, I think I remember this happening before…. It must be my dad. The last time I was at their house, I logged in, and it must not have reset.

Either that or Freeda (our dog) has taught herself how to type.

Ok, just have your dad click “logout” under “Misc” in your sidebar.

Mark, I’ll forgive you about dropping the bird flu ball, if you assure me Clementine is supposed to be an Africanised Killer Bee.

Mark- You should let Liz and Flick know that Christian has been eaten by a lion.
