wreck the office – make art

If I had a community access television show, I think that my house band would have to be my friend Andy’s Lunch Hour Skiffle Band. They are, in my opinion, the best office supply-playing band in the world. And, if you didn’t go and check them out the last time I wrote about them, you should do so now… They’ve got some new stuff up.

In a somewhat unrelated thought, it just occurred to me that a company like Office Max or Staples might be interested in building an ad campaign around the Lunch Hour Skiffle Band. Seriously. Just think of all the business they’d be getting if the idea took off and if people across America began making music by banging on staplers and playing their keyboards like washboards. Just think of all the broken stuff that would need to be replaced. This could be really huge.

Fun. And I’m always happy when I find someone who hates the Beatles.

Hmmmm…. Did I miss something on the site, or are you just assuming that they hate the Beatles because of the way they covered the song? And, if that’s the case, that’s pretty mean… I think they were trying as hard as they could.

It’s not easy to cover a song in an hour with office supplies, you know.

Kathleen, I hate the Beatles too. And for some reason I feel so bad about that. Although their trippy phase was somewhat appealing.

Please don’t waste your hatred on the Beaatles. There are much more deserving targets, and hate is such a precious commodity.

Thanks for remiding me of this site as it is WAY COOL! That is the best cover I have ever heard of “Insitutionalized”! Mark, where do they work and does their boss know what’s going on in the supply closet?

They work at a local community college. As for people knowing, I don’t think it really matters. They get everything done on their own time, during their lunch hour. And it’s only once a month.
