traitorgate stays in the news

Maybe I spoke too soon yesterday when I suggested that the nomination of John Roberts to the Supreme Court would bump the Rove story off the front page. Today’s Washington Post had Rove front and center… Apparently, there’s now evidence that seems to refute his claim that he first learned about Valerie Plame, and her role in the CIA, from reporter Robert Novak. It seems as though, contrary to his assertion, that there was a memo circulating around the administration before then which very clearly stated not only her relation to Ambassador Joseph Willson, and her role within the CIA, but that this information was to remain “secret.”

According to our friends at Think Progress, prosecutors may be considering perjury charges against Rove and his playmate “Scooter”.
