stealing jesus

I just discovered that the first chapter of Bruce Bawer’s book, “Stealing Jesus: How Fundamentalism Betrays Christianity,” this month’s selection of the Ypsi/Arbor Progressive Reading Group, is available on-line in it’s entirety. If you should read it and like it, and want to join us in our discussion this Thursday evening, just send me a note and I’ll give you directions to the secret fort… after asking you a battery of questions designed to determine whether you’re really a progressive, or just a right-wing extremist plant. (Of the 75 questions, about half are concern the attributes of a well-made lattes, imported beers and French cheeses. That’s all I can tell you right now.)

    Mark – how unrealistic is it to say that you (or someone directly involved in the book group) should set up a streaming online feed of the meetings through your site (and anyone else

    I’ve thought about it, Mike. I just now got back from the meeting and it was really good. I wish you could have been there. You would have liked it… Next time you’re in the state let me know and we’ll try to schedule around it… As for webcasting, or podcasting it, it’s crossed my mind, but I’ve always got too many other projects in the que – like the Ypsi Sentinel site… Maybe I’ll get around to it in a few years.
