the ypsi sentinel

I went out and had beers with the Managing Director of Maproom systems the other night and was I pleased to find that he’d brought along an agenda for our meeting. (note to self: I need more friends that bring agendas to bars.) I don’t believe we got past the first item, but that wasn’t because we were either too lazy or too drunk, or because a mouse ran over my foot midway through my second pint. (Yes, it was like the Tap Room of the olden days again.) It was because we became so engrossed in the first item — how to set up and run a local citizen-journalism project here in Ypsi along the lines of what I alluded to a few days ago.

Fortunately, this fellow got home and posted about our meeting on his own site, so now there is at least some record of what was discussed pre and post-rodent. As you will see, he even went so far as to suggest a name and mascot for this new enterprise of ours, something stolen from of Ypsilanti’s secret history.

Check it out. Isn’t the spitting cat great?

If you think that you might want to be involved in some capacity, leave a note and I’ll add you to the citizen reporter email list that I’m starting.

Keep me in the loop, I may be able to handle some of the web stuff if you need it.

Mark, your blog software has the capability of running multiple blogs with multiple bloggers. You could even get some creative domain name and point it at one of your new multi-user blogs.

If this is one of the few ideas I actually pursue, I’m sure that I’ll call on you both for help. Thanks.

And I just realized that the cat probably isn’t spitting. Upon closer inspection, I think they’re whiskers… That, of course, doesn’t mean that our mascot can’t spit. (Speaking of spit, I wonder where Kami is.)

Kami’s been having anal sex and eating white castle burgers according to her journal. She also has a new movie out called Texas Asshole Massacre that I’m wanting to see. Maybe I’ll write a review.

    Fantastic, Terry!

I’m supposed to do an interview with her at some point for about the Republican National Convention, Wal-Mart, and other stuff… If anyone out there has any questions that they’d like me to ask, just send in a note or leave a comment.

The spitting cat is SO my next tattoo. I would also like to suggest The Spitting Cat as the name of any new pub that should pop up in Ypsilanti. I hear the dining optionas are increasing…

Dammit. I wanted the cat as MY next tattoo!

I would be into working on an Ypsi-blog, or whatever…

Hey Mark, I also would like to keep in the loop and may be able to offer a hand. Us Arbor Updaters would certainly appreciate a similar project for our eastern sister. (see my site for contact info, if you need it)
