the tub filler

This local news story comes by way of a concerned reader named Jamie:

MAN REPORTS TUB FILLED IN BREAK-IN: A 34-year-old man reported to Ypsilanti police that someone broke into his apartment in the 400 block of West Forest Avenue while he was at work Wednesday and filled up his bathtub with water. According to a report of the incident, the resident told police that when he came home from work, he found his bathroom window had been broken and a few items in his apartment had been moved around, but nothing was taken. The resident said he noticed that the bathtub had been filled with water. He told the police the bathtub was empty when he left for work. (Ann Arbor News 2/17/05)

I’m terrified to go upstairs, into the bathroom, and pull back the shower curtain. I’m more terrified now than when I first saw “Psycho.”

If I had the time and energy, I’d make some “Tub Filler at Large” posters for the post office lobby. People need to know about this.

I lived on that block. There’s only three houses. I wonder if it was in mine. I never had any trouble with any Tub Filler, but my landlady was creepy and invasive though.

Sounds like the guy made a clean getaway. The investigation will likely be a wash.

I think someone clipped my nails last night as I slept… I may have also received some kind of reverse liposuction…
