If you get a chance, check out Georgia 10’s diary at the Daily Kos site. She does a good job of tracking down information on GOP USA, the Texas group behind Talon News and our balls-out journalism friend Jeff Gannon.

Here’s a comic from the GOP USA site that Georgia dug up during the course of her investigation. I thought that it was so funny that I couldn’t resist reposting it here. (The kid’s wearing a Darwin shirt. I thought that was a nice touch.)

As long as we’re talking about welfare, it’s probably worth reminding everyone that the blue states subsidize the red states.

It’s also worth mentioning that the election is over and the libs lost again. It’s almost like you pay for the red states and then the red states also tell you what to do. How’d you guys work out such a deal for yourselves?

Ken, you can use my phrase “balls out journalism” on your Gannon site if you like. It’s my gift to you.

Mark, “Balls Out Journalism is pretty good. I’ll run it by the focus group. I sent a few past them and I’m getting some positive feedback. What do you think? “The Naked Truth” rated high but I thought it a bit cliche. I am really leaning toward “Taking a Hard Right”.

Mark, I’ve been away, but did you make this?

Nope, that wasn’t me, Leighton, just someone else with bad penmanship and an appreciation for the self-awarded patriot ribbons. It’s pretty cool though.

I had a nice email exchange with Colin Hayes, the creator of the Leftersons. I really like his illustration style and have seen some of his stuff in magazines. He keeps the cartoon seperate from his illustration stuff, over here. He seems to be going for the other extreme for Doonsbury and the Boondocks but needs to work on his chops more. Once you get past the funniness of the stereotypes, there isn’t much there.

The Seattle Post-Intellingecer did an article on him a couple of years back.

Thanks for the note, Ken. I like the style too. It’s just unfortunate that he isn’t able to get any deeper with the material. I’d be the first to admit that people on the left are good fodder for comedy, but from what I’ve seen of his work, he just isn’t able to get beyond the surface stuff…

I was going to make an analogy using the comic strip
