New Jersey senator Frank Lautenberg has demanded all White House documents relating to softball lobbing, fake newsman J.D. Guckert, a.k.a. Jeff Gannon. Here’s a clip from the Senator’s press release:

In light of yet another scandal involving the Bush administration’s manipulation of the media, United States Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) today requested from White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan all the documents relating to the press credentials of James. D. Guckert, a.k.a. “Jeff Gannon”; the “journalist” now famous for being the White House correspondent for his softball questioning of President Bush and various Administration spokespeople.

“I am writing to request that you immediately release documents to my office relating to the White House press credentials of James D. Guckert, a.k.a. “Jeff Gannon.” Specifically, I am seeking documentation related to the question of which name Mr. Guckert/Gannon used when applying for credentials, and which name was on the official White House press credentials he received,” wrote Lautenberg.

I haven’t heard it mentioned elsewhere, but it’s the theory of at least one blogger that it might be more than just a coincidence that Guckert has a history in male prostitution. According to this theory, Guckert was placed inside the White House press corps not only to ask easy questions of McClellan and Bush, but to act as a “honey pot,” to seduce closeted gay reporters and generate blackmail material. I don’t put much stock in the theory (see the image below), but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Not much of a “honey pot,” huh?

So what? This man said when he was quitting that the reason was for “the consideration of the welfare of me and my family”. Sound like he was threatened?

What about CNN, AP, NY Times, etc. They are certainly partisan democrats but no one seems to care about them.

    Mark,

why do you hate gay people? Why is it that if a gay person is accused of a crime you gleefully put it on your main page? Are you threatened by gay people? Are you turned on by us? We only want to live our lives in peace and not have hatemongers like you attack us.

This just in: The AP, Rueters, CNN, NBC,CBS,ABC and PBS apparently have had Left leaning reporters infiltrate their ranks in order to ask bias questions of the president and bring harsh criticism to the Bush administration no matter what they do. Dan Rather supposedly has the scoop on 60 minutes with an in depth interview with CNN’s Eason Jordan and The Today show’s Katie Couric for a factual non-partison look at what is going on with this adminisration. Bill Moyers is also slated to write an tell all article with precise and factual account as in his latest article on James Watt and his second coming of Christ quote. Contributing editors are slated to be former NYT reporters Jayson Blair and Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Rick Bragg, both of whom have some extra time on their hands.

This just in : It will now be FORMER CNN executive vice president Eason Jordan joining Dan Rather.

here’s a part of the equation you’re not taking into account.

Those ‘liberal’ media groups you mention, and their reporters, are a part of the blessed and unregulated “Private Sector”, as well as the ‘free press’.

This fellow gannon, however, was in some way working for the administration, who is supposedly running the government.

    …..and that’s YOUR MONEY!

mark, i have to disagree with your criticism of how hot a honey pot gannon is. He seems kind of cute in a ‘young ed koch’ sort of way.

And i like the frame still, which almost gives the illusion of him being in the middle of asking a really good question.

hey, if he was asking softball questions as a hired gun of the admin, then I don’t agree with it. Does anyone here have a list of the questions that he asked though? I haven’t seen anything yet.

The photo of him in underwear from his AOL site looked pretty hot…

I agree with you mike, This is we have professional journalists. I’m sure this site covered RatherGate (which reached millions of prime-time viewers days before a major election and touted obviously fake documents as proof that Bush was a liar) with the same amount of vigor that they’re going after talon news service.

Americablog has a large spread of this guy’s escort pages from website caches.

The photos are even better than the underwear pic from his AOL profile. Of course, on his various escort pages he claimed to be 7 1/2, 8, and 8+ inches, while judging by the pictures, I’d guess 7 maximum.

Too bad he’s a top, he’s got a nice butt. (I couldn’t afford his rates, anyway.)

I wonder if his rates will go up or down after all of this.
