My friend Matt is the Associate Curator of Exhibitions at the Contemporary Art Center of Cincinnati. If you’d asked me yesterday, I would have said that I was envious. Today, however, I feel pretty happy to have my ordinary office job. You see, my friend Matt now has a Homeland Security file. Here’s a clip from the Cincinnati Enquirer:

Fake passports for the fictional State of Sabotage were to be issued last Friday night at the Contemporary Arts Center during the opening of its new exhibit “Incorporated.”

Instead, the 33 passports were confiscated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Detroit en route to the show.

As they say, you just can’t buy publicity like that.

I commented on this story too. While I find the situation mostly funny I think it says volumes about our messed up priorities in this country. I created a TerrArt Alert System in response. I wouldn’t be surprised if the homeland security department starts using it.
