“bastard, old dirty bastard”

Yesterday, the rumors began circulating that the CIA, under the new leadership of Porter Goss, would begin purging itself of officers “disloyal” to Bush. Now, today, we hear that international man of mystery ODB (Old Dirty Bastard) is dead. Am I the only one that thinks that maybe, just maybe….

On a more serious note, wasn’t it recently suggested by the 911 Commission that CIA “group think” was at least in part responsible for the intelligence failures that allowed for the September 11 attacks to happen? With that in mind, one has to wonder if it’s really the best course of action to purge individuals with opposing viewpoints… And I’m not saying this as a partisan, but as someone who doesn’t want to see this country attacked again.

On a less serious note, although I haven’t seen a James Bond film in the theater since I was about fifteen, I would have gone in a second had I heard that ODB would be playing the lead… If only I’d had this idea while he was still alive.

Colin Powell just quit. I guess that’s one more non neo-con voice that won’t be at the table.

    Fuck.
