it worked for burma-shave

The DailyKos site this morning mentioned the October 13 Driving America to Think action that’s being suggested by the Freeway Blogger. If people actually do it, it should be pretty cool. The hope is that thousands of people from the blogosphere will head out to their nearest highway and post anti-Bush signs like the one pictured above, essentially bringing the power of blogs into the real world like wonderful little tumors… I’ve been sitting here for the last few minutes thinking of a
Burma Shave-like series of signs that I could put alongside highway 94. Here’s the best one I’ve come up with so far. If you have a better idea, let me know.

When we were attacked
You read
The Pet Goat
Too bad for you
We remember and vote

Say no to Bush on November 2

And, speaking of October 13, I’m in the process of putting together a debate-watching party here in Ypsilanti. Hopefully, I’ll be posting something later in the day. Stay tuned.

    New attacks each day
    Over one thousand dead
    Mission Accomplished?
    We think not!

This is my contribution for the Burma-Shave submissions. I also made it the added extra bonus of being a very loose interpretation of a haiku.

    bush the defiler
    sustained upon MeatShakes*
    blacked skies of flatulence
    our country withers

    Horde all your pills

    Employment’s down,
    We’re in the red,
    With naught to show
    For thousands dead.

    I have a dozen dinosaurs
I bought them at the mall
I keep them in my pockets
    Because they’re very small

I took them to the Warhol
    A very clean museum
They’re now behind the soup cans
    If you wanna see ’em.

A car crashed through the window
    From General Robinson Street
    A drunkard little schoolboy
And a sandwich made of meat

    The police and the punk
    And a tow truck dispatched
    The Warhol sustained
    Another terrorist attack?

Very nice, Kez. If what you say is true, and you really are augmenting Warhol’s obsessive collections with your own, I think that would make a very nice article for Crimewave. Consider it, OK?

I didn’t go out and put up the signs. I kept thinking that if I got hit by a truck while putting up anti-Bush signs along the highway that it would be all over conservative talk radio. I didn’t like the thought of Rush Limbaugh and the ditto-heads laughing at my death… I’m not kidding either. That’s why I didn’t put my signs up. Damn OCD.
